regulation and resilience
deeply rooted in our natural connection
At Nurtured by Nature, I provide holistic, nature-based therapy that supports real, lasting change. I integrate evidence-based psychotherapy with experiential outdoor therapy to help adults regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with themselves, and heal through the mind–body–spirit connection. This work supports resilience, self-worth, and sustainable wellbeing for people navigating stress, burnout, trauma, and life transitions.

our natural values
My work is grounded in respect, collaboration, curiosity, and care—for individuals, communities, and the more-than-human world. I practice from a trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and inclusive framework that honors interdependence and resilience.
I acknowledge that this work takes place on the traditional and unceded lands of Lenape people and hold a commitment to engage in this work with respect, integrity and humility.

Hi, i'm annie kEIl
I’m a licensed associate professional counselor specializing in experiential nature-based therapy and integrative psychotherapy. My education, training, and professional experience are explicitly grounded in outdoor therapy, somatic and body-based approaches, neuroscience-informed care, and trauma-informed counseling.
I work with adults across many identities and life stages—professionals, creatives, healthcare workers, academics, parents, helpers, and high achievers—who are seeking therapy that moves beyond traditional talk therapy and supports the complete mind–body connection.
let’s get to know each other
Clients describe me as down-to-earth and my approach as warm & compassionate while also direct & respectful

I am a Scientist and an Artist. My experience in clinical research and as a photographer have trained me to notice details, recognize patterns, and see beauty in unexpected places.
I value the scientific contributions to the field of health and well-being and recognize the artfulness of working with humans.

I privilege the role of the brain, body and nervous system in therapy and experience you as complex being whose story has been shaped by the family, social and cultural systems that you’re a part of.
I use an eclectic mix of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Relational/Attachment, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Existential, and somatic approaches.

Outside of my work, I cherish time spent in nature with my children, creating art, building community, moving through yoga, and learning to play the violin.

why nature heals
I do this work because I’ve seen how powerful it can be to step out of an office and into relationship—with the body, the land, and something larger than ourselves. Nature-based therapy offers a different pace and different ways of knowing that many people find more regulating, accessible, and honest.
I’m especially drawn to working with people who care deeply and carry a lot—those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, compassion fatigue, moral injury, or identity shifts. I believe healing happens through connection, and that nature is an active partner in the therapeutic process.
